Softener

Softner

The hardness in water is caused by certain salts. The main hardness causing ions are Calcium (Ca2+), Magnesium (Mg2+) and Bicarbonate (HCO3-). These ions are normally addressed as scale in the water causing (lime) scaling of pipes and equipment.

Membrane Group’s Water Softeners allows hard water to filter down through a bed of ion exchange resin. The ion exchange resin attracts the calcium and magnesium ions (hardness) and replaces them with sodium ions. This is a benefit for water systems and plants because it prevents scale build-up. The system uses Uniform Particle Size Resin which has high exchange capacity and also reduces chances for channeling and leaching within the system.

Membrane Group has installed more than 1000 Softening systems on various industrial and municipal applications treating different water from surface to wastewater.
