Forward Osmosis

Forward Osmosis

Forward Osmosis (FO) is a gentle process that transports water across a semi-permeable FO membrane while effectively retaining any dissolved solutes on the feed side. The osmotic pressure difference between a solution of higher concentration (draw solution) and a solution of lower concentration (feed solution) drives the FO process as shown in the figure.

Membrane Group owing to its extensive research and trials on Forward Osmosis systems can deliver systems which can

Treat difficult waste waters with very high organic content- where other technologies fail

icon
Help achieve ZLD by minimizing waste volume so as to reduce the load on Evaporator system thereby reducing Opex.

Forward Osmosis can concentrate rejects to higher concentrations beyond the limits of RO

icon
Enhance your Process Concentration – Protect valuables, nutrients, and aromas during processing

Few Commercial applications for Membrane Group FO Systems for Process Concentration are listed below
